Banking Method
ACH / Online Banking at VT Sportsbooks
ACH (online banking) is free, supports large balances, and works at all three Vermont operators. The trade-off: 1–3 business day deposit and withdrawal speeds instead of instant.

Why Use ACH
- No fees, ever. Most banks treat ACH as a free transaction. Card-fee shenanigans don't apply.
- Large transaction support. If you're depositing or withdrawing $5,000+, ACH typically has higher limits than card or wallet methods.
- Cleanest paper trail. If you need tax records or want a clean accounting separation, ACH from a dedicated bank account is the simplest approach.
- Universal. Every US checking account can ACH. No additional service needed.
How to Link Your Bank (VIP / Trustly / Direct)
All three VT operators use one of two ACH connection systems:
- Plaid / VIP Preferred / Trustly: The operator partners with a third-party service that asks for your bank login credentials in a secure browser frame. Your bank credentials are not shared with the operator. Linking takes 2–3 minutes; deposits become instant after the first verification cycle.
- Manual routing/account number: Older flow. You enter your bank's routing number and your account number; the operator sends two small test deposits ($0.01–$0.99) over 1–2 business days that you confirm. Slower to set up, but works with any bank.
Deposit & Withdrawal Speed in Practice
Once your bank is verified through Plaid/VIP, ACH deposits typically appear instantly in your sportsbook balance even though the funds may not fully clear from your bank for 1–3 business days. The operator extends you the credit. Withdrawals, however, follow standard ACH timing; 1–3 business days from when the operator approves the cashout to when funds land in your account.
Common Issues
- Bank holds the ACH pull: Some banks (especially credit unions) take an extra 24 hours to release ACH transactions for gambling MCC codes
- NSF / insufficient funds: If the ACH pull fails after the operator extended credit, your sportsbook account can be temporarily frozen
- Bank not supported: Some smaller community banks aren't in Plaid's directory; you'll need the manual routing/account flow
When ACH Makes Sense
- You don't care about same-day withdrawals (use ACH for both legs)
- You want zero fees on every transaction
- You're moving larger sums than card/wallet limits allow
- You want a clean paper trail for taxes or accounting
For faster cashouts at the cost of slightly more setup, PayPal remains the gold standard at Vermont operators.
